Breaking News: Satan Hacks Social Media Accounts World Wide!
Now don’t get me wrong, I love my fair share of social media. I am a current member of all the common accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, and Twitter. While I thoroughly enjoying scrolling through my news feed so that I can be updated on when my friend went to the gym, what her son ate for breakfast, and whether or not her toddler is taking a nap, (guilty) sometimes I find Satan. Now, some would say I’m reaching to say that he in fact hacks our social media accounts, but if we bring it back to scripture we know that God said he was the most beautiful angel. So while I scroll through the “junk posts,” I find myself basking in the glory of the “wonderful news” such as an engagement, wedding, pregnancy, or a sweet toddler milestone. I am quickly reminded that those beautiful posts can actually become detrimental to our daily lives and how we view ourselves. How do I know that? I live it. Almost everyday. Raise your hand if you are a young mom just trying your best to make it day by day? Your toddler doesn’t listen to you, you don’t get dinner made every night before your husband gets home, your bed doesn’t get made, and the laundry is stacked high. But as you scroll through your feed you see that Sally Sue can cook a beautiful seafood dinner with every dish towel she owns clean in her drawer, all while her toddler sits at the table practicing their ABC’s and reading elementary literature. Sally and her husband put the kids to sleep (they don’t wake up in the middle of the night) and the two lovers with their perfect marriage head to their room to find that their bed is perfectly made, sheets ironed, and tucked in so tight that they can barely snuggle in. How do you know all of this? Because Sally Sue had one of those days where she was killing it as a mom and wife and wanted the world to know that she wasn’t that mom who left her full basket in aisle 12 at Target yesterday because her son was throwing the biggest tantrum. She was proud of her accomplishments that day compared to the day prior. And she has every right to be! We have all been there. The day just seems to go according to plan! You were able to check everything off of your list, and then some. Your kids behaved better than they ever have. They took a 4 hour nap which allowed you to accomplish even MORE than you ever desired, AND you got to sneak in an episode of your favorite show! You tried out a new recipe from Pinterest because you were feeling froggy after how great the day was already going! Your husband gets home to a hot meal, your kids go to sleep in a flash, and you get to bask in your accomplishments of the day as you snuggle into your perfectly made bed. Now I don’t know about you, but this is not the normal for me. However, it has happened before! I am a good wife. I am a good mom. I am a good person. But the day I read Sally Sue’s post and viewed all of the pictures that went with it, something broke in me. Something told me I was unworthy. Something told me I wasn’t enough. Something told me I should just quit trying because I will never amount to Sally Sue or anyone else for that matter. Well, I’ll tell you what happened. Sally Sue had every right to be proud of herself that day, but Satan used her social media account to attack me…and I let it work. Can you relate? Have you ever had just a really bad day. Really bad. And you start scrolling through your newsfeed only to find that someone else is doing this crazy thing called life better than you? Not just better, way better. Off the charts in comparison. Y’all…that’s Satan! He comes to steal, kill, and destroy your character, joy, and every part of you that makes you, you. He often uses the people we are closest to and puts them on assignment without them even knowing. They may say something to you that seems completely harmless, and yet, it ends up sending you into a downward spiral as you question your worth. The worst part? They don’t even know they did it! Well let me be the first one to tell you…YOU. ARE. ENOUGH! How do I know that? Because you are the daughter of the Most High King. In Genesis 1:27 it says that God created mankind in His own image. How awesome is that? He loves you. He believes in you. He thinks you’re doing a great job. He gave you those precious children of yours because He knew YOU were the right mom for them. You’re a great wife. You’re the best wife for your husband. So the next time you’re scrolling through your newsfeed and stumble on someones accomplishment that may be your struggle, rest in Deuteronomy 33:12 for it says “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.” Stay secure in your faith. Keep God’s promises and reminders close to your heart, and remember that anything that makes you feel less than or unworthy, is not of God. He doesn’t knock us down, He picks us up. He doesn’t question our worth, He gives us a crown.
